1) What is the name of your character? Is he/she fictional or a historic person?
Seth is a fictional shapeshifter. In his world setting, he is pretty historic (dude is a couple thousand years old, but hanging in there).
2) When and where is the story set?
Asylum is set in a alt-verse much like our own, though there are some major differences. Pretty much every monster or magic you can imagine is real, though it all lurks beneath the surface.
3) What should we know about him/her?
Seth does some pretty crazy magic in an act of desperation (hey, there was a demon, ok?) and returns to the world a force thought to have been wiped out before Seth was even born.
4) What is the main conflict? What messes up his/her life?
Remember that demon? Yeah, Azriel is a bit of a problem. No one really knows what he wants- maybe not even Azriel himself. Demons are funny like that. Remember that crazy old force Seth brought back into being? It was hunted down and destroyed for a reason- and many of the people who first hunted it are still around in some form or another. Deadly, deadly secrets.
5) What is the personal goal of the character?
Seth wants nothing more than to settle down and live the life he was denied when the Agni Dai captures him all those years ago. If he has to fight for it- well, he’s never been afraid to get his hands dirty before. And Nica is worth fighting for (not to mention a bit of a badass herself – but she’d have to be, to keep wild card Seth in line).
6) Is there a working title for this novel, and can we read more about it?
We currently just refer to it as Asylum, though if it’s ever published, we like the idea of calling the series “The Book of Destinies”.
That is a very exciting thing to people who know why (sadly, there’s only like three of us that know why).
Bits and pieces of the Asylum/Havenverse are scattered all over the blog, conveniently tagged “Asylum/Havenverse”.
7) When can we expect the book to be published?
Asylum was built with web-lit in mind, so while you’ll probably never hold a tangible copy in your hand, Asylum will be available to read online, hopefully within the year.
And now, teh taggins!
EclicticAlli, I want to hear from you for sure!
EntertainingStories, I’d be particularly interested in seeing someone from Panama (almost done w/ Wild Concept, btw).
Olivia, you’ve hinted at a lot of characters before- got anyone you want to trot out for us?
Aaaand 2 mystery guests? Since I’m boring and don’t have any friends 😛
